Seeded No. 1 in Division I, despite a 16-11 overall record, Bellarmine blew out Santa Clara 72-39 in its playoff opener.
Salinas is playing on momentum, having defeated Independence and reigning CCS Division I champion Santa Teresa. It has won its last seven games.
The Cowboys will likely have a nice following for tonight's 5:30 p.m. battle at Independence. Salinas has to control its emotions, slow the game down and not allow Bellarmine to go on explosive runs.
