It wasn't Half Moon Bay's height advantage that ended Palma's season, although it did have a rebounding edge.
The difference was the Cougars rose to the challenge, doing things they hadn't done most of the year -- such as sinking free throws in critical situations -- 13-of-16.
I doubt the Chieftains game plan was to rely solely on Noah Allen for offensive production. But that was the case for three full quarters.
The TCAL MVP looked tired in the fourth when Palma really needed him. Then again, without his 23 points in the first three quarters, the Chieftains aren't in this game.
Allen in company will be back next year to redeem themselves. But this loss will sting for a while.
