Monterey boys hoops

The hope is that a home playoff game tonight will end the demons that have haunted Monterey in the playoffs over the last three years and kick start a lengthy postseason ride.
 The last time the Toreadores won a postseason game was nearly seven years to the day. The win came on their historic court.
 Monterey has not lost a home game since Dec. 13, falling by one point to Valley Christian, who just happens to be in its bracket in Division III.
 That alone would be incentive enough, if Monterey wasn't trying to squelch skeptics, who feel its 17-game winning streak isn't worthy of a top five seed.
