Give me an MVP in girls basketball this year. Two of my top three have missed parts of the season because of knee injuries.
Yet, they are invaluable to their teams. Just look at their teams' records without them.
John Devine has been writing about high school sports in Monterey County since, well, practically since he was an athlete at King City in the days just after leather helmets. In PrepNation, John has even more in-depth analysis of the latest results and news he's brought to you in The Herald and in his weekly videos.

Priscilla Mora at North County, she averaged nearly 20 points and 20 rebounds this season. The rebuttal will be lack of wins at North County, she kept them in games, hard to believe North County wins games without her. She had a stellar season, also brought an average of 3 assists and 4 steals this season. She was a total package. Don't forget she saw double and triple teams all season. She played thru a dislocated toe injury the last part of the season. She dislocated the toe in a game this season, the medic on staff popped it back in place and she finished the game. Just an awesome kid to have on a team, with a lot of heart and great work ethic!! MVP in my book
