Does Monte Vista have any incentive to avenge a humbling loss to Carmel during football season on the hardwood?
Sure it does.
Four of the Mustangs top five scorers in hoops were a part of the 59 point massacre Carmel laid on them in the playoffs.
Monterey Bay League MVP Josh Mooney averaged 22 points a game. Don't be surprised to see MTAL MVP Devin Pearson shadowing him.
Prior to producing just 38 points in a loss to Monterey in its league finale, Monte Vista was averaging 73 points a game during a four game winning streak.
Carmel held 10 opponents under 38 points this year.
