Keep in mind that a .500 or better non-league record or league record only enables you to petition for the CCS playoffs.
Sure, 95 percent of the teams that petition will get in. Yes, it's over saturated.
But a handful of teams will be left out.
Two teams that need a win tonight to help make an argument are North Salinas and Greenfield.
Neither has a winning league record.
But a North Salinas win over Salinas tonight would be huge.
And if Greenfield can knock off Pacific Grove, a perennial playoff team, it might be headed to the postseason for the first time.
