With Campolindo pulling off its second straight big upset to win the North Coast Section title, Palma has a better shot than it did 24 hours earlier of gaining a state berth.
When Campolindo started the season, it was projected to finish last in its league.
Campolindo's (14-0) season will be hard to ignore, especially since it beat Cardinal-Newman - a program Palma (11-1-1) played to a 10-10 tie.
Again, the tie is coming back to haunt the Chieftains.
