MPC men's basketball
With nine freshmen on the roster this winter, the Lobos are going through growing pains, having dropped their last two games in the final seconds.
One bright spot continues to be 6-foot-8 sophomore Andrew Young, who dropped in 20 or more points and 20 or more rebounds for the second straight game.
The Lobos are doing some good things. In Friday's loss, they hit 17-of-19 from the free throw line. Young was 10-of-10. Like most young teams, turnovers are costing them games.
Straighten that out before conference play begins on Jan. 4 and the Lobos will be contenders.
One other player that's picking up the pace is Donovan Salvant, who had 16 points in his last game — as many points as the former Seaside standout had in his first eight games.
