it was a great game, refs missed 2 late hits on Devin Pearson but still a great game which will be remembered for a long time, Palma looks great for next year, as for Carmel they have to replace Devin Pearson which will not be easy but they do have Holden Smith returning with now a year under his belt, but the one remaining question is replacing the O-line

It was all about coaching tonight. Carmel was outcoached and overmatched. Its easy to beat up opponents in a weak league, and all those big scores, going for two, onside kicks, etc., actually mask medicore coaching.

It was clear tonight that Palma's players were better - but that was expected. What was surprising to me was how much better Palma's coaching was.

Carmel is not used to getting physically dominated like that. Hats off to Coach Anderson for getting his team under control at the end. Congrats to both teams on a nice season.

The zebras were a complete embarassment.

Yes the coaches were dominated because Palma has a powerful, dominating offensive line. That's an idiotic and simplistic view point. I've seen first hand from the opposing sideline how prepared Carmel has been when they prob could just "roll the ball" out there and beat teams. From experience I'd say Carmel prob felt they needed to "go for it" and take chances. Why kick deep? So Palma could march down with time consuming drives?

Also, just throwing it out there.. But Palma was able to opt down based on their enrollment, which is just boys.. Their true enrollment (when facing a co-ed public school) would be 2x that, so around 1200-1400..

They didn't opt down. You can't opt down. You can opt up. Anyone can. D4 is their division. Their enrollment of 400+ is doubled to make 800+. That's Division 4.

Tex is right. Palma and Notre Dame combined don't have 800 students.
