There is a good chance who ever wins the coin toss in tonight's CCS Division IV final between Palma and Carmel will defer to the second half.
But is that wise?
If I'm Carmel, I think I take the ball and make a statement with an offense that has averaged 55.2 points a game. Don't wait until the second half.
If I'm Palma, I might want to take the air out of Carmel early by establishing one of its typical 10-play, six-minute drives.

I think Carmel would prefer to start with the ball in the second half. Their offense seems to respond well if/when the other team scores first and they've been able to dictate the tone in the 2nd half when they start with the ball.
I'm just excited to see this team really challenged for four quarters. I think we are going to see that bringing out the best in them. Still not sure if that will be enough to take down Palma, but containing Carmel's offense for four quarters won't be any picnic.
