 Don't be mislead by the Wildcatz slow start out of the gates. Still on the floor for the reigning MBL champions is 6-foot-7 Ivo Basor and all-league guard Lamar Cowans.
 Those are two solid parts to build off of from a team gutted by graduation. Two of Watsonville's losses to start the year were by five points or less. Another came from CIF power St. Mary's of Stockton.
 Basor gives the Wildcatz an inside presence while Cowans will create matchup problems at the top of the perimeter.
 The cast around the pair is still a work in progress. Junior Alex Chavez gives them an outside presence, which could force teams from doubling down on Basor in the paint.
