Had it not been for another coach going to defense for Seaside, it might have been lumped into the 'A' Division instead of North County.
A 2-8 team being forced into a higher division?
Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Of course, Seaside has been the only MBL team willing to play Palma and Salinas over the last three years.
Seaside also has two CCS divisional titles in the last six years. And it should be talented next year.
But the big picture for this program isn't as promising. Enrollment is dropping. The entire program had 81 kids for three levels. Salinas had 70 kids for the varsity alone.
You can't move a team based on the past.
