 Menlo-Atherton is 7-0 when it scores first, 1-3 when it doesn't. Two of its losses this year have come at home. It is 4-3 against teams in the playoffs this year.
The Bears are 7-1 over their last eight games. But they have not been involved in a game decided by 13 points or more this year.
 Then again, neither had Salinas until last week's 27-26 win over Homestead, its fifth straight road win.
 A concern for the Cowboys is their run defense, which has given up over 2,000 yards on the ground this year, including 275 last week.
