What Monterey did so effectively in shutting down Monte Vista quarterback Taylor Cohan was collapse the pocket with a package of blitzes, forcing him out of his comfort zone.
Two of his four interceptions on the season came in that game. It was the Mustangs' only setback of the season.
You can bet Carmel has watched tape of this game more than any other. Or at least it should have.
Cohan can pick apart a defense if given time to throw. He doesn't need a lot of time. But he can't have a guy in his face the moment he gets the snap.
Cohan has a lot of targets to get the ball to. If there is pressure, look for a lot of dump-offs to the running backs.
