Monterey County sports writer Dave Coffin passed away today after a battle with lung cancer.
Coffin was a reporter for The Herald for over 50 years, covering every sport imaginable. One of his last pieces was a story on the late Ben Omoto.
Dave, you will be missed.

Sorry to hear that. I have fond memories of being up in the booth with David sitting there keeping notes in his own style. And enjoying how he made the game come alive the following day in the Herald. His columns will be missed.
