Salinas football

 The Cowboys have been invited to play in the Battle for the Capital in Week 1 of the 2012 season.
 Salinas will travel to Los Angeles to play a team yet to be announced.
 Salinas, which has been to the playoffs three straight years, faced a state ranked team from the San Diego area two years ago, and a Nevada state ranked team in 2008.
