I think the Giants' real problem is at the top of the order. You can't generate runs if you can't get runners on base.

You've still "not" got it John. Posey was called up the last week of May in 2010. He had months to play with the team. If anything the Cody Ross or Pat Burrell acquisitions are more similar to the Beltran trade.
Cody Ross did nothing for the Giants until the postseason. Beltran is an all-star.
