22 teams in 22 days XVI

Alisal
You usually don't lump Alisal into the mix when talking about teams from the TCAL making the playoffs.
Not enough size, not enough depth.
Ah, but you can't teach heart.
Last season Alisal came within a half point of reaching the postseason for the second time in five years. It has beaten every team in the TCAL at least once since its arrival in 2007 accept Palma.
No coach has gotten more out of his personnel over the last five years than Sunil Smith. Prior to Smith, the program had never sniffed the postseason.
The playoffs is again the target this year, especially with three-year starting quarterback Michael Barron back behind center.
After dropping five of their first six last year, the Trojans rallied by going 3-1 in their final four games. It is the hope that last years finish carries over into this fall.
Stealing a non-league game on the road in Fresno or Chowchilla in the first three weeks could set the tone for the season.
