It seems each year Stevenson is a mystery because at least half the squad leaves the county for the summer. And it always starts practice two weeks later than everyone else.
This year is no different.
Well, that's not completely true. The Pirates have a new coach. And they are coming off a 6-4 season.
Still, the biggest question is Stevenson's depth. The numbers may be around 20 players. Then again, when the Pirates won the program's first and only MTAL title in 2000, the roster had just 19 players.
Still, Stevenson lost its quarterback, leading rusher and receiver to graduation, not to mention three all-league players on defense. There may be too many holes to fill to duplicate last year's record.
