Max Bell is listed No. 32 out of 33 runners for tonight's 1,600 meter run at the state championships.
I'm betting that the Salinas distance ace will finish higher than that.
Because it's a trial race for Saturday's finals, the race will likely be tactical among the elite - meaning slower. Bell will be able to remain with part of the pack, which could push him to a personal record.
