Monterey baseball

Stephen Ventimilia promised head coach Michael Groves a CCS title when he was a freshman.
Four years later, the Toreadores are one win away from making their first Division II finals appearance since 2005 when they face Willow Glen today at 4 p.m.
Monterey has dropped just four games all year. Two of those losses were to teams in the CCS Division I finals.
Pitching and defense has carried the Monterey Bay League champions most of the season. Sound familiar SF Giants fans?
It has proven to be a recipe for success at any level.
