Clarissa Hernandez rewrote her school record in the hammer for the third time this year.
This time it catapulted the Hartnell College sophomore to a state title as she unleashed it 162-feet-8.
Hernandez, a former Alisal High swimmer, came into the state finals ranked second overall.
Sophomore Matt Battaglia raced to a second place finish in the men's 800, clocking 1:53.08. This is the second straight year Battaglia has earned Junior College All-American honors.
