Four runners could be within a stride of each other in the 300 intermediate hurdles at Friday's CCS finals for the third and final qualifying spot for the state meet.
Included in that group is Alisal's Oscar Pearson and Alvarez's Julian Nagata.
If Pearson equals his season best of 39.00, he's got a shot. But he hasn't come within a half second of that mark since running it at Alisal four weeks ago.
Nagata seems to be peaking at the right time, having run 39.53 two straight weeks. More time will have to be cut to extend his season.
One advantage both will have this week is it's their only event.
