A source within the NFL has told me that Seaside graduate Ron Rivera will be named the new head coach on Tuesday of the Carolina Panthers.
Rivera has spent the last two years as the Chargers defensive coordinator. Prior to that, he was a defensive coordinator for the Bears and a linebackers coach for the Eagles.
Rivera won a Super Bowl ring 25 years ago as a linebacker for the Bears.
