It's conceivable that Salinas boys basketball coach Joe Chappell could break the Central Coast Section record for wins this year.
Chappell is 11 wins shy of tying the mark of 668.
Salinas (14-1) has nine more league games, including a tip off tonight at San Benito. If it ran the table to reach the CCS finals, Chappell would go into the title game tied with 668.
