The Arizona Diamondbacks have expressed interest in free agent first baseman/outfielder Xavier Nady, who spent last season with the Cubs.
The Cubs are also believed to be interested in bringing the Salinas High graduate back. Last year Nady platooned between first base and the outfield.
An appeal to Nady could be starting for the Diamondbacks and being closer to the West Coast. In 2008, the right-handed slugger hit .300 with 25 home runs and 100 RBI between the Pirates and Yankees.
