John-Wyatt Williams is having the greatest season ever for a running back in Monterey County with over 2,300 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns for Monterey.
And Devin Pearson has compiled over 3,000 passing and rushing yards for Carmel with 33 trips to the end zone.
But the most compelling story of the year is Andrew Franks' comeback from a skill fracture and hematoma, suffered in a July head-on-head collision with an opponent in a seven-on-seven drill with no helmets.
Franks, a senior at Carmel, has returned two interceptions and a fumble for a touchdown in three of his last four games. And he's 17-for-17 in extra points.
