Ronnie Drummer

Three years after catching his last pass for Duke University, Ronnie Drummer has been given a shot to play professional football.
Drummer, who set a Monterey County rushing record during his senior year at North Salinas, has signed a contract to play for Saskatchewan of the Canadian Football League for 2011.
The Roughriders signed Drummer after a private workout in Kansas. Drummer will be used in the slot, where his 4.25 second 40-yard dash speed is an appeal.
A two-time Herald Athlete of the Year, Drummer, 25; was second in the state in the 100 meters in 2004, breaking the North Salinas school record held by Olympic gold medalist Alvin Harrison.
