Some traditionalists believe that King City and Gonzales should always meet in the final game of the football season.
And while the teams have played for a mega phone for 80 plus years, and the game is the oldest rivalry in the county, King City and Greenfield on Friday is a game with meaning.
Not only do the Mustangs need a win, but it has to come against Greenfield to secure the second spot in the MTAL. It's the only way they can make the playoffs.
Closing the season at Greenfield allows the Mustangs to control their playoff fate.
