Did anyone really believe before the year started that Notre Dame --- who lost five starters and 10 players to graduation --- would contend for a title this year?
I still believe North Salinas is going to gather no worse than a share of its first league title in 13 years.
But falling to Salinas on Tuesday opened the door for Notre Dame to pick up a piece of its third straight TCAL title along with Salinas.
Notre Dame and Salinas sit one game behind the Vikings. Notre Dame closes the season, hosting North Salinas on Nov. 4.
