Rivalry out of control

I would say any chance of Monterey and Carmel renewing a contract to play football next year is gone.
Monterey administration sent a letter to the Central Coast Section complaining about Carmel's sportsmanship. One of the complaints was what was written on homecoming floats.
I don't want to keep this fire burning.
However, administrators at Monterey should be more concerned with three members of their football team shouting obscenities at the Carmel bench in the third quarter -- while trailing by three touchdowns.
I was there — 20 feet away. My ears are still burning.
What's unfortunate is this game had the makings of being a great rivalry for years. Kids didn't ruin this. Adults did.

I'm not sure I agree with your logic there, John. If players of the football team were shouting obscenities, then I would argue that it was the kids--at least, some of them--that "ruined it."

How right you are...the "Adults" coaching Carmel's varsity football team.
