Football quick hits

At 6-0-1, Palma is one of three teams still unbeaten in the Central Coast Section. The other two are Palo Alto (7-0) and Valley Christian (7-0).
Palma's defense still has not given up a point in the third quarter, outscoring opponents 114-20 over the first three quarters.

King City and Carmel appeared headed for a showdown in two weeks as both are undefeated in the MTAL at 4-0.
The Mustangs have won five straight games since dropping their first two. Their last two wins have been come-from-behind victories.

One reason for Salinas' turnaround can be found in running back Josh Estassi, who has rushed for 495 yards and seven touchdowns in his last three games, averaging 7.1 yards per carry.
In his first five games of the year, Estassi had 402 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per carry.

Carmel is expected to ask Marina this week to have a running clock for its game. Which is what should have been done all season.
