Joe Mitchell has put his coaching career on hold at CSUMB. The school's all-time leading scorer has signed a professional contract to play basketball in Mexico for the Guanajuato Abejas.
Mitchell, who played last season in Germany, owns the CSUMB career scoring and rebounding records, becoming the first and only player for the Otters to go over 1,000 career points.
The 6-foot-6 Mitchell will play alongside former CSUMB point guard Steve Monreal.
