Who is a bigger surprise as we enter the final month of the football season?
Monte Vista Christian and its school record 6-0 start; North County opening the season with six straight wins, while averaging 53 points a game before stumbling at Monterey; or King City's run of four straight wins after an 0-2 start?
How about Gonzales, who is 3-3 overall? Remember it came into the season mired in a 14-game losing streak that dated back to 2008, allowing over 40 points a game during the drought.
It hasn't won more than three games in a season since 2003. Granted two of its wins have come against teams that remain winless. But it has been competitive in its three losses as well.
