Did the 49ers find a quarterback in Troy Smith?

Don't hold your breath.

But what the former Ohio State Heisman Trophy winning quarterback did was provide a spark for the 49ers.

Smith also completed 12-of-19,  tossing a touchdown pass and running for one to help erase a 10-3 deficit in a 24-16 win.

Whether he's the answer or not, the 49ers are 1-0 with Smith behind center. That earns another start.
