Football quick hits

North County is on pace to break the Monterey County scoring average of 46.8 points a game set last fall by Carmel. The Condors are averaging 48.8 points through their first four games.
Palma is now 9-0 over the last two years when running back Jack Baird rushes for over 100 yards, 1-2-2 when he doesn't. I don't think it's a coincidence.
After scoring just 32 points in its first three games, Alisal erupted last Friday for 34 in a much needed win over Woodside.
Pacific Grove has now been outscored 175-14 in its last three home games.
North Salinas has lost three games by 7, 5 and 1 point.
What's gotten into Salinas? After being humbled by Atascadero and Seaside, the Cowboys beat previously unbeaten Santa Teresa and tied the section's No. 10 ranked team in Los Gatos.
Greenfield has given up the least amount of points in the area at 13. Can it stop a Carmel team that scored 66 on them last year?
Before thinking Carmel ran up the score in last week's 51-14 win over Monterey, it was a backup quarterback throwing a fourth quarter touchdown against a first team defense that was putting eight in the box and crushing 120 pound running backs.
