Palma product Elliot Vallejo has retired from the Raiders.
A backup offensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals Super Bowl team in 2008, Vallejo was still bothered by a sore left knee, suffered in the Cardinals training camp in 2009.
To many NFL players can't live a normal life after football. Vallejo, an engineering major, did not want to go down that path.
An undrafted free agent out of UC Davis, Vallejo spent two years in Arizona before being released last season. The 305-pound Vallejo was signed by the Raiders in the off-season.

Elliot is going to be an engineer. He is going to be just fine. And he will still be able to walk when he's 50.
