The Wildcatz may have snuck up on opponents last year in gaining a share of their first Monterey Bay League title in 15 years. Gutted by graduation will make repeating the feat difficult.
Watsonville lost over 4,000 yards in offense, not to mention 31 seniors, eight all-leaguers and a league MVP. What helps in a rebuilding process, though, are numbers.
While the Wildcatz have some size back in the trenches, they will be starting from scratch at the skilled positions.
However, five teams on their schedule did not have winning records last year.
