Why can't Major League Baseball pitchers throw more than six innings and 100 pitches?
Aren't today's pitchers in far better condition than the pitchers of the Nolan Ryan and Bob Gibson era, where four days rest and 130 pitches was a normal outing?
Here's one theory why pitchers arms are weaker. Little League players are throwing curve balls and breaking balls at 11 and 12 years old. That wasn't allowed 30 years ago. It's got to take a toll on the arm.

I agree. I was at a card show about 10 years ago and shook Bob Fellers hand and in his 80's had a stronger grip than a guy 50 years his junior. That guy is tough. He still is in his 90's.
Those old greats were tough. No way pitchers of today would be able to throw the innings they did.
