Pitcher Stephen Strasburg of the Nationals didn't make the National League all-star team.
Why are people surprised?
Strasburg has been in the major leagues for one month. No one makes an all-star team based on five starts. He's not an all-star — yet.
He may be one of the top five starters in the National League. It doesn't matter. You have to earn your spot and he hasn't done that.
To Strasburg's credit, he said he probably would have declined the invitation.
