Palma baseball

Yes, Palma's baseball program is on probation for one year.
But it's not as big of a deal as the anonymous caller made it out to be.
A Palma assistant coach held a Sunday practice with a few kids that he used to work with when he was not an assistant. Sunday's are a no-no.
Palma turned themselves in.
The result is probation for next spring, the loss of two games in 2011 and the program must start practice a week later.
No forfeits, no loss of postseason play.

The assistant coach held hitting lessons on Sundays at CSUMB for a fee of $175.00, so I can tell you it happened on more than just one Sunday and for a fee.

At the end of June, during the summer baseball program, the assistant coach held hitting lessons at Palma, after players were told practice was on Tuesday, but he was there on Monday with a select few, and this was probably not free.

Grant it, this assistant coach does offer hitting lessons to players of different ages, but to offer hitting lessons to his own JV kids on Sundays for a fee, is just not right.
