Five former Monterey County standouts will report to their respective NFL teams in less than three weeks, with three getting fresh starts.
Among them is three-time special teams pro bowler Kassim Osgood (North Salinas), who left the Chargers for Jacksonville.
Tony Curtis (Seaside) is a backup 49ers tight end while Elliot Vallejo (Palma) will battle for a spot on the Raiders offensive line.
Super Bowl champion and starting guard Carl Nicks (North Salinas) will return to New Orleans as will Green Bay backup offensive lineman Evan Smith (Salinas).
