With Stevenson graduate Andrew Berger pitching for the Diamondbacks Class A affiliate in Yakima, Washington, there are five former local baseball players in the minor leagues.
Among them is Palma product Jordan Casas, who is playing center field in the Indians farm system, as well as Monterey's Michael Bugary, who is pitching in the minors for the Red Sox.
Two more former Monterey graduates are playing in independent leagues, including pitcher Joey Pargi and outfielder J.J. Sherrill.
