Elliott leaves Notre Dame

In a sudden and unexpected move, Notre Dame volleyball coach Paul Elliott has stepped down to take the same job at Santa Catalina.
With one huge difference.
He will also become the schools full-time athletic director.
Elliott wanted to enhance his professional career as an administrator. Remaining a volleyball coach was not the selling point, although it is certainly something he is good at.
In two years at Notre Dame, he won 54 matches and a Tri-County Athletic League title. In 16 years at Southern Oregon University, he won 381 match, during them into an NAIA power.
Santa Catalina has been successful the last 11 years under Mark Zalin. Elliott will have to learn to deal with border students arriving late and kids getting homesick. My hunch is he'll do just fine.

Great for Catalina and the MTAL.
