Stevenson softball

The mood was far from somber as the dugout was cleared out.
Three straight trips to the Central Coast Section Division III finals has yet to produce a softball title.
Yet, there was no reason for Stevenson to feel disappointed following Saturday's 4-1 loss to Notre Dame of Belmont.
Sure, it wasn't their best game. That came 48 hours earlier when the Pirates ended a 17-year losing streak to Notre Dame of Salinas.
People forget, though, that softball isn't the reason kids choose Stevenson. Yet, the continued growth of the program has put the Pirates on the softball globe.
