Final boys basketball rankings

1. Monterey: Must put heartbreaking CCS final loss in the past, as Central Catholic awaits in the State Nor Cal DIII tournament.
2. Salinas: An argument can be made that this group overachieved in reaching the DI semifinals.
3. Alisal: Four of the five starters and a portion of the bench will be back next winter.
4. Carmel: The only two losses in its last 15 games came from the CCS DIV champions.
5. Palma: Will recharge the batteries and make a run at supremacy next year.
6. Monte Vista: Replacing a three-year starting 6-foot-10 post will be a tall order.
7. Pacific Grove: Could Pacific Grove be pushed into the upper division next season?
8. Seaside: I don't know if a move to the upper division is the right call for a senior heavy team.
9. Alvarez: There are some parts returning to make the Eagles a contender next year.
10. Stevenson: A young group that could emerge as a contender next year.
On the bubble: Soledad, Christopher, King City, San Benito, North Salinas.
