Carmel-Thomas More baseball

Central Coast Section Division III Quarterfinals
Saturday's game
No. 6 Carmel (17-10) vs. No. 3 Thomas More (23-3) at St. Francis, 2 p.m.
With only eight teams in the newly created Division III bracket, the Padres have not had a game in eight days.
  A concern?
Will Thomas More is in the same boat.
The difference is the Padres closed the season with a win over King City, while the Knights fell 4-3 to Pinewood to share the Peninsula South Athletic League title.
Thomas More's offensive numbers are staggering, hitting .448 as a team. Then again, it is a little misleading when glancing at the league it plays in.
That being said, Anthony Cortese and Diego Lopez are both hitting over .500, having combined to drive in 85 runs.
Christian Stapleton has put up fantasy type numbers this spring for the Padres, hitting .634 with 10 homers. More than half of his hits have gone for extra bases.
Kevin Cook is hitting .452 for Carmel while freshman Jabin Trosky sits at .335. Pitcher Dylan Houpt will likely get the start, having posted a 7-2 record with a 1.37 earned run average.
