Carmel-Hillsdale softball

Central Coast Section Division II Semifinals
Tuesday's game
 No. 5 Carmel (16-6) at No. 1 Hillsdale (22-6) at PAL Stadium, San Jose, 7 p.m.
 For the first time in 12 years, the Padres are in the semifinals, facing the Peninsula Bay Division runner-ups.
 The Fighting Knights have four players in their lineup hitting over .400, including freshman Mika Chong, who leads the team in runs batted in with 37.
 Addison Eftakarri has ripped six homers, while hitting .478, with more than half of her hits this year going for extra bases.
 Carmel is coming off arguably its best game of the season in blanking Pacific Grove 11-0. Hillsdale needed extra innings to extend its season in beating Sobrato 10-8 in nine innings.
 Rachael Carroll and Kendra Hyles each had three hits in the Padres quarterfinal win, while Jessica Pavloff tossed a seven-hit shutout.
 Carmel has three hitters hitting over .400, including Carroll, Jocelyne Bruno and Jaclyn Hyles. Ten players reached base in the quarterfinal win over Pacific Grove.
