Carmel-Gonzales football

Friday's game
Carmel (1-2) at Gonzales (2-1), 7:30 p.m.
The Padres are injury free after a humbling preseason that included losses to Palma and Salinas in back-to-back weeks.
While there are questions lingering about Carmel's defense, no one is doubting the talent of bruising sophomore tailback Covossay Windham, who will be a man among boys in the MTAL.
Don't expect the Padres to abandoned their wide-open spread offense. But Windham will give them an opportunity to chew up yards and the clock, giving the defense more rest.
The Spartans have produced 97 points in their last two games with quarterback Chrystian Harrigan having completed 23-29 for 398 yards, adding another 183 yards on the ground.
Gonzales, which gave up 40 or more points during a 17-game losing streak, has allowed just 23 in its two wins. Isaac Madrigal has recorded six sacks.

Questions regarding the Carmel defense? Really? My only question is who is gonna stop Enriquez. With 4 sacks and a boatload of pressure he was in the backfield more than the Gonzo's RB'S. Then you have Treadwell and Brothers...it's gonna be a long season for the MTAL offenses.
