Salinas-Santa Catalina polo

Two teams that reached the postseason last year are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive this fall in the water.
Only three teams went to the playoffs last year out of the Gabilan Division in girls water polo.
Right now Salinas and the Cougars sit a game out in the win column for that third spot heading into today's battle at Santa Catalina.
The Cougars attack starts with Colleen Boensel, who has a team leading 14 goals and 22 steals in just five league matches.
 Lindsay Trayford and Jennifer Griffin have been snipers in the pool for Salinas, combining for 50 goals in the teams first 12 matches. Griffin also has 31 steals.
 The Cowboys have one of the elite goalies in the area in Devon Cooper, who already has 148 saves this year between the pipes.
